Late nightcomer is today's moon
Artificial lights all around
Dull the beauty of stars overhead
I jog and jog on dried-up ground.
I am ready for whatever faces me
Fear and grief cannot dare to shake
The replenished soul that is my essence
I know how to beat uncertainty.
In all these years of my life here
I have masked my sorrow, gulped a tear,
But of late I love to stare back
And beat gloom with a smile of cheer.
I am not going to sit back and mull
The ifs and whys of ties that dull
The man inside...I have to fight back
The selfish and myopic foolish lull.
So I jog and jog till the moon joins me
And night birds chirp in jocundity
No darkness in my soul stalks me
All chains are broken and I am free.
