IS BLOOD THICKER THAN WATER?
Sages say that blood is thicker than water,
And that our kith and kin and most loved ones,
Bestowed upon us as a family by God,
Are better and more trustworthy than a stranger.
However, I doubt whether this is true these days,
As my very own have shown by their betraying ways,
That do what I may out of my love for them,
They prove it is blood now that has grown thinner.
Perhaps it is a sign of the great judgement day,
Perhaps it is destined that they should go astray,
Yet I pray to my God, my loving Allah,
To spare some blood and let it be thicker than water.
