Autumn sun,
Woman on TV,
Tells us about happenings.
In dim light,
A man listening,
To his favourite channel.
The AC's on,
Cold comfort in the room,
Work and leisure intertwined.
Ramadan,
Devout ones fasting,
A holy month for many.
A new day,
Brings with it much news,
I feel intensely aloof.
Brightness glares,
Fingers and lips talk,
Yet there is a marked strangeness.
You and I
Were once keen to know,
The latest hype, but not now.
Flower smiles,
In marshy water,
The gardener is not around.
Close my eyes,
I don't want to see,
The rottenness of everything.
