Cast out from above for a single wrong,
Into a world I am not supposed to belong,
Enmeshed between heaven and hell is my life,
And He is silent to Whom I cry, to respond.
Thrown in the sea with both hands tied,
Told to swim against the great tide,
My Maker, don't let me perish like Hallaj,
It is to You that I have always cried.
I tried my best to understand Your scheme,
A little did I comprehend the world unseen,
Only You know why I am here,
Only You are aware where all I have been.
To you I entrust my boat and my sail,
I shall not exult nor shall I wail,
The stormy waves may roar and may swell,
I trust you will make smooth my sail.
My God, I am yours, your spirit is in me,
Don't let anything get the better of me,
From you I came to You will I return,
I wait for a sign, a reply to my plea.
