Like an Elastic Band

Pink tears from reflected colour
Off the walls where a little girl sits
Where she is supposed to be thinking about her sins
Where all her mind is running on is anger

Sweat drips off of a forehead
That belongs to a man plotting revenge
He is locked away now
But all he can think about is how he will succeed next time

A dog whines in the corner of a cage
Where he has been sent again and again
Because the shorter the leash was tightened
The harder he pulled to get away

A boy lays in his room
Explaining how he's mad at his mom
For keeping him inside
And that he will sneak out later
