My dad's baseball glove

My Dad's Baseball Glove

My father have always used this same baseball glove since I remember. For nineteen years I’ve always seen my father with the same baseball glove when he plays softball. It doesn´t matter if its a game or a practice, if it’s the beggining of a new season or if it is the final game of the season. When I see this glove at the house, it reminds me my dad doing his amazing catches with it, bending to catch the ball to make a groundout, or jumping to catch the ball that was about to be a hit. Sometimes that glove reminds me when my dad made the famous Derek Jeter’s jumping throw in a game. When he plays as shortstop, third baseman or even as a catcher, he always use this same baseball glove, this light brown baseball glove that have been always with him during all my life. When I put his glove on my hands, I can see all the history that this glove has. Since I was little, when I played to throw the ball with him, I remember he used this same glove with a not so common brand named “Joga industries”. I’ve seen some pictures when he managed the baseball team that went to Williamsport on 1996 where my older brother played, and I saw some pictures when my dad trained with them with his same glove. When I was thirteen years old, I remember how he played in a softball team with my two older brothers, and I always wanted to play with them and to feel how it is to be in a team with my dad and his famous baseball glove. Now I have the opportunity and since I was sixteen I’ve been playing with them and in the same team as his glove, that for me has a meaning of power and talent. Everytime I see my dad playing and I see how he uses his glove, he is my example to follow and I’ve learn a lot of things thanks to him and his glove. It doesn’t matter if we lose or we win, this glove its always there and for me is a the best example of perseverance and to show us that there’s nothing that we want that we can’t have. During all my life I’ve learned a lot of things about it, but the most important thing that I learned from my father and his glove, is that I should enjoy playing any sport, or to enjoy doing any thing I do, instead of getting mad or sad because we lost or something went wrong.
