Heartbeat Of Our Universe
Life moves forward continuously
Forever we dwell in the past.
As if to rewind, but never.
I never saw it coming.
Do we ever?
I dwell, and dwell among listless thoughts.
I begin to write, to define.
But there is never a resolution.
Lest if there was, would we not rest in peace?
Would we not give up?
We keep going. Striving among fighting forces.
Pay our dues, struggle through rumors.
The tremors of the earth yeild us not.
For we are strong, and overbearing.
Sing songs of hope to reach out.
I wonder if we will ever run out of things to say.
If we did, would we not give up?
Forever in our being, we search and discover.
Ever reaching for an answer.
If we found that answer would we not rest in peace?
No. Never.
As I speak the earth moves forward,
ever changing, never at rest.
The heartbeat of our universe, depends on us.
As we seek answers and destroy.
But we'll never know.
If we did...
would we not rest?
