Big bad wolves and wicked witches
No prince to be found
Tried, but never kissed the frog
That would bring love around
Tempted by forbidden fruit
And lured into the dark
So many times I chose the path
That led to a broken heart
Spent millions at the wishing well
Caused twinkling stars to dim
I lost my faith in pixie dust
My ever after, grim
Wandering through black and white
My life was dull and gray
Hints of color taunted me
But never came my way
Just when I had given up
My quest to find true love
Somewhere on the horizon
Shone a light from high above
Then this knight in shining armor
He came riding into view
Just like a fairy godmother
Had made my dream come true
There he stood before me
Wounded, I could see
He just smiled and said
That he'd come here to rescue me
A dragon slayer scarred
By all the battles of the past
Had fought so long and hard
To come and save my heart at last
I forgot to breathe
I was entranced by every word
This spell that he had placed on me
The sweetest ever heard
I'd never felt such magic
I'd never felt such bliss
My soul had been awakened
By the power of a kiss
But would he leave at midnight?
Or would we dance till dawn?
If I closed my eyes, I wondered
Would my handsome prince be gone?
"No, this one is a keeper"
"This one is the one"
My conscience whispered to me
That my life had just begun
I took his hand and I knew
There was no way to deny
The ending to my fairytale
Had waited for this guy
Then we rode home to his castle
So that he could marry me
And my own ever after
I could now live happily
