You've always been able
To take me from darkness to light
You turned all my frowns to smiles
And made everything so right
I used to feel lost in the shadows
But now I have been found
Whenever I have needed you
You've always been around
When I felt like I was drowning
In an ocean full of tears
You put your hand in the water
You pulled me out of my fears
When I felt trapped inside my secrets
You worked hard to get me out
You unlocked the cage that held me
You saved me without a doubt
Whenever I got really sad
You'd look into my eyes
You'd tell me you were there for me
And that it would be alright
So what do I call somebody
Who took the time to hold my hand
You must be my guardian angel
Or better yet, you're my best friend
