Shirking Responsibility
Let's just all take responsibility for
the tragedy
Do we keep guns in our homes, even
in the name of self-defense
Do we glorify images of gun culture
in movies & tv shows
Do we reenact warplay in video games
Do we revere and bow down to those
who carry guns in the course of their
daily activities, such as police officers
or military personnel, but denounce
the rights of others to arm themselves
Do we participate in endless debates over
the lack of gun control laws
Forbidding firearms will never suffice
especially when some are given free reign
to carry and others not
Begrudging compliance soon leads to
restless rebellion
Each must make the decision in and of
ourselves that we will no longer brandish
weapons
