Building my own house
both daunting and appealing
concentrating on the floor
when I ought be looking at the ceiling
pink tufts of insulation fluff
float down onto my head
no dread, I laugh instead
drills n screws are my retinues
hammer n nails my arms to bear
roof goop in my hair
adobe mud between my toes
plumbing pipes, installing windows
1 2x4 at a time
up sketchy ladders I climb
by these scarred hands made
a Jill of all trades
if I could live to 101
my work would still not be done
