What is Wrong With Me?

As I stand on a bridge

Wondering what is wrong with me,

I tie an anvil to my feet

Ready to jump into the sea;

It has been a long time

Since I saw myself content.

Now I look at the old mirror

To see the broken me.

Do you remember the days

When you were young?

The carefree memories

Of basking in the sun?

Do you remember the kid

Who grew up to be you?

How the kid loved the days bright,

Despair never in sight?

Now think of a child

The age of that kid,

A child who longs for

The luxury you lived,

As you watch a stranger

Tie an anvil to his feet,

Know that he was that child.

Let him jump into the sea.
