She turned her back on the screaming man
and raised up her spear.
facing the approaching mother cougar
without a lick of fear.
The Mountion lion stared at her
asking silently if he is lunch
the forest warrior pulled out some fish
and threw the cougar a bunch.
Then she turned back towards the man
and gave him a shy smile
He asked if she could help him up
and help him walk for a qhile.
Again she didn't respond
at least not with words.
Then threw him onto her back
like a great mother bird.
She climbed up the tree
while the man hung on tightly.
Jumping from tree to tree
while the man screamed lightly.
Finally she carried him up
into her house in the tree.
And handed him a hazelnut
soaked in a bee's honey.
He ate it with a joyous smile
wondering about her name, she didn't mention
And then he looked up at her
and bombarded her with questions:
"How did you come to live here?
Don't you have a family?
How are you so strong
when you don't seem all that manly?
Do the animals understand you?
Is that why they don't attack?"
But the forest warrior said nothing
all she did was look back.
He said, "Are you deaf?
Can you at least tell me your name?"
She replied, "little man talk too much.
But yes. My name is Jane."
