sunburn
A day at the beach
breathing the briney air
i look towards the horizon
i swim away from all my fears
if i drown i don't even care
today the waves reached so high
and were so strong
as if the water itself was fighting the sand
it knocked me all around
and dragged me on the ground
i went under
couldn't breathe
it was exhilarating
i lay on my towel eyes closed tight
the sun shone so bright
and the sand even felt right
i had the time of my life
but as i always know
with the good always come the bad
and a burn to accompany the sun
it hurts so much
can't stand the lightest touch
but in the end
it was all worth it
eventually the pain will go away
and there will be a tan
and i'll be better
