The insane Footman or tolls of shame

Then know you will a thousand cuts

 

Is a dagger just a metaphor

Or analogy - symbolic for

The arrogance little girls implore

When vile winds and tears do scorch

The loving Earth with days of morrow

"All things must pass"

This too sweet sorrow

 

If you felt the jarring winds

Slice deeper the fading soul

If you felt weightless descent

Or heed the bells that toll

Then know you would what follows next

The Reaper of Souls

You aptly vexed

 

Dost he linger in the shadows

As if a child whom plays a game?

Dost he strip the soul immediately

Or allow its gentle fade?

 

Dost he smile and state

"You'll rue the day...?"

 

Dost he snicker and call you by proper name...?
