Beginning of the End
I am hurt
I am in pain
And at this point I have no escape
Love has failed me again
For some reason I just can't win
To think highly of oneself
But be treated like nothing
Causes a pain I don’t miss
Too familiar with such hurt
There’s no need to reminisce
I am distracted
I am not relaxed
Peace is what I wish

Poetry is a wonderful self healer.............
Write all your pain and desires out in that. Remember in future relationships that we teach people how to treat us. Early on, in a relationship if you see a person mistreating you correct them. If they still continue doing so then end that relationship righ then and there and know that nobody has the power to change another person. You can only change yourself. If a man speaks to you like you are a dog when he is mad early on in a relationship he will continue to do so without end. Things won't get better. My mother use to tell me look at his relationships with his mother and sister. If he has good loving relationships with them, then how he treats them will give you an idea of how he treats you. If he has had many girlfriends and fathered many children steer clear of men like that. They show that they can't be faithful and they care little for a woman to leave her pregnant and alone while he moves onto another woman to do the same. That is a huge problem in our society women so desperate for a relationship they take men of such low qualities rather than hold out for a good man to come along. Your poem reminded me of myself when I was in my late teens early 20's I kept getting hurt by this or that man and I started counciling myself being my own best friend if you will, and learning not to accept many types of behaviors from men. Add me if you like and if you ever need a sounding board write me a private message and I'd be happy to advise you or just listen. There is no reason anyone has to go through life uncertain and not sure what they should do. Please continue writing. It is a wonderful way to express ones self and help get through the rough times. I enjoyed reading your poem and I hope my comments helped. Most Sincerely, Melissa Lundeen.
Thank you so much. I
Thank you so much. I appreciate your thoughtful words. I can't explain the feeling of my voice being heard, and hearing a reply. Again, thank you.
