I choose not to kill my enemy
For the mothers who lost their sons
And daughters alike, when families mourn
The loss of their closest ones
I choose not to put anyone down
For the depressed, distressed and abused
They may appear weak
But in problems they face
They just may be stronger than you
I choose not to steal from others
For the ones that must live on the streets
Although my life is a struggle
My life is not that incomplete
I choose not to live as a suspect
For all of our black men locked down
Because a boy can’t learn to be a man
When there are no men to be found
I choose to care and be a role model
For those who need someone to look too
I choose to lead instead of follow
I’ll choose carefully in everything I do
This is an absolute beauty! keep writing. Wonderful choice of words, I love it.
