on a sleepy christmas morning
with snowy eyes and a dreamy heart
i pull the curtains back
squinting to see the sun
i shrug at cigarettes holes
gives my cardigan character
the smallest imperfections
just like the marks on my skin
wrinkling my nose, tiny sniffles
wrapped in blankets
not nearly as warm as your arms
cold compared to your touch
and if i let you in,
will you be my sunny counterpart?
i don't dare sleep this morning
i might miss your *twinkling* eyes
and when you rest beside me
i admit, the silence is too much to bear
when my whole heart leaps
and then hums with anticipation
when the power goes out
we'll be content in each other's arms
smiling into the dark
feeling each electric spark
don't forget the sweet smell of my perfume
the way I run my fingers through your hair
intoxicating like addictive fumes
you're the drug i'll always choose.
