She was a tough woman living in the wrong place at the wrong time. She had a stubborn attitude since her birth. When she was born, there was a full moon and she was not supposed to go out until 3 weeks later, but she wanted to see the world, so she kicked and kicked and fought against the same uterus that nourished her during the last 8 months until her poor mother delivered her 3 weeks earlier.
She was tiny and feisty. As time passed she became a glorious creature worth admiring with dark hair and a strong gaze. She met him during hard times, and after her grandmother died, she escaped with him to an uncertain future. 7 births and 4 miscarriages she had and for those cried all night until sunrise. Then, wiped off her shiny tears and started to make breakfast for her husband and kids.
Times were changing, and she started to aspire for greater things, such as a brighter future for her kids. While he thought the girls should be married and the boys should work the land, she was thinking of how her children should be getting themselves into college. Many fights were held but, being the mighty woman she was, she won at last.
One at a time, they started to leave the house and so they were left alone. That didn’t last long as the first grandchild came along. Shiny tears full of joy were streaming down her face as she held her eldest daughter’s newborn. She preached her philosophy to every single one of those new kids. They should all be respectful, adventurous, strong and independent and if not, a firm scolding would take place.
She thanked God every night for the fortune she had and asked Him to take care of those kids that couldn’t be with her. Pain and strange feelings in her gut started to arise and finally, she climbed and climbed and climbed the endless stairs until she disappeared between the clouds leaving the whole town looking at the sky.
