Someone I loved died tonight.
The world didn’t stop spinning.
The sun still set, the moon still rose,
And everyone’s lives went on.
It isn’t fair! It should all pause!
The stars should pay tribute,
Birds should sing songs of mourning,
Wolves should howl their sorrows,
Trees should kneel in remembrance.
Nothing special happened and
Things still and will go on, but
Someone I loved died tonight.
