Where I've Been, What I've Seen

I’ve been out in the field under
Starry skies that me feel small.
I’ve seen a great many shapes, the
Heroes and creatures that are legend.

I’ve been exploring the lake pondering
By myself the meaning of life’s mysteries.
I’ve seen a tree so large and old
It awoke sorrow to see it fallen.

I’ve been lost in the wilderness with
My brother enjoying trying to find home.
I’ve seen the sun sail across the
Sky my shadow its reciprocal.

I’ve been driving around town, listening
To the radio not a thought in my head.
I’ve seen endless prairies that you
Would swear stretch on forever.

I’ve been dreaming of place very
Far away from here, where I’m not sure.
I’ve seen it night after night in my
Sleep, it calls, I’ll find my way there.
