They say everybody's special in
Their own way. That's bullshit.
Everybody might be unique in
Their own way but I don't thing
That translates to special. Of
Course they're different definitions
Of special and perhaps that's
What they mean when they say
Everybody's special, but I still
Disagree. I have my own definition
Of special and it might be the
Only one that truly matters. I
Find a person to be special if
They don't take things for granted.
There are people who will live
To 88 years old and they'll have
Lived and died without ever fully
Appreciating the people they
Knew, the abilities given to
Them, the opportunities laid
Before them. I'm not special.
I've tried to be, but so quickly I
Forget and take for granted all
That's around me. You ever
Noticed those who don't take
Things for granted are always
Changing things, always making
The most of the moment, the day,
Their lives. That's why they're
Special. You see all of us are talented,
But we let is slip on by, don't put in
The work, give into our apathy, Don't
Take yourself for granted, please.
Shit, id hate it if i was
Shit, id hate it if i was special! How shallow and boring... id rather be awesomely ordinary and interesting! Great write! All we can do is be ourselves the best way we lnow how to be in a world of many variants. Hugss
Don't let any one shake your dream stars from your eyes, lest your soul Come away with them! -SS
"Well, it's love, but not as we know it."
Special People
I was thinking yesterday about how each moment is precious and how can I change my room around to accommodate the tv? Always changing things, in the garden, moving plants. In my head, changing old patterns to remain optimistic. But "special"? I've known SPs and they were humane, intelligent, egoistical, talented, disciplined, and selfish. Just shy of sainthood :D enjoyed this poem tremendously ~allets~
