My veins glare up at me from
Translucent skin
Iridescent aquamarines, deep blues
Faint reds and purples
They dare me to seek the blade
To still my beating heart
They crisscross across my slim wrists
Going up into my tiny hands
Like roads on a map
The scars, thick pink, brown and
Grey lines, mark my body as mine
They blood seeps up from my heart,
Spilling across my breasts, down
My stomach, I watch it flow
There is nothing left to stop me
Now as my pulse dulls and fades
Fast, far away
Out of reach..
There is nothing keeping me here.
