Gauntlet

Walking along the streets of time
Reminded of the shallow Gallo’s that have strewn about you there
Your story lie’s, wilted flowers blanket your sanctuary
Winter’s snow on the rose, cover’s your sharpened thorns
Hiding their wrath until too late you bleed

And so it was and so it is
You could have recited this story, before it was ever born
With yesterday’s tomorrow’s setting life’s table
Go ahead, take all that you must…life doesn’t always taste bitter as cold blue steel
Silence can become deafening

Perhaps the shadows that dance upon the walls
Will one day echo more in your mind than refrain’s
As one day, gauntlets that leave you shimmering, become silent
As your sadness one day too, relents to peace
