Today one goes back in his mind
Takes a look at the past with so much regret
From the cradle to the grave, this journey through time
For those that have returned his love, he’s forever in their debt
Oh he has remembered the past loves
For they haunt him night and day
There was a time when they were kind
They loved him along the way
Reflections are often bitter
Hard for him to accept their taste
Perhaps when this life’s lost its glitter
They will be easier for him to face
He’s watched the northern lights dance
While he hummed a lonely tune
Echoed another’s heart in romance
When loves tree was in full bloom
Known the joy of a boy
The most precious one ever in his life
Raced the sun and came undone
Faced the struggle and strife
The sacred love of his son
Has kept him going through it all
For the love of the “Little Man” one
Has made him able to stand tall
And someday he knows if it’s God’s will
This journey through this time will end in peace
They’ll be no more troubled times in this life for him to deal
That God’s love will never ever cease
And as his time of reflection
Will someday come to a close
His journey through his past with love and affection
With you, to share this tale, he has chose
May God bless you all…
