The heat of Texas in May
Does little to warm the cold memory
Of you... and Wisconsin
The sadness I feel on this day
No one can Show Me a way
To comfort this boy from Misery
As pain still resides with my heart
And you… in Wisconsin
Searched for you in the flesh
Drunk and disorderly mess
Twas I, as I flashed back to you
I stayed true and blue
With memories I was a mad man
A sad man
A bad man
In Cajun country
Alone, in a room full of people
Each with their own agenda in plain view
My mind could only think of you
Only stay blue
For my world hath no other color
I used to be the last one to leave
And the first one to fight
But not anymore
Now I just finish my drink
And walk out the door
To take my memories of you in the night
With me they forever blind my sight like staring in the sun
I think of us, when we were one
As I turn the door key I know it won’t be long
Til in my dreams I see you
With me… I’ll hold you in my dreams, together as one,
While you sleep there without care…in Wisconsin
