Upon me came a precognition
I welcomed with trepidation
for its meaning ambiguous to me
was like the calm before the storm
peaceful waters turning to a raging sea
images to the future, with opinions they would form
Seeking fairytale dreams
that illuminated my mind
uncharted waters soon I would find
for it seems
the engines on this boat had failed
and into loves dangerous waters I’d sailed
paying no attention to compass’, or alarms
“steady as she goes” the heart listened to her charms
Broken oars would bring about futility
loosing this ship would bring humility
picked up the distress phone
but there was no one to call
all the while I should have known
that dreams can’t catch you
when you fall
And like a lost ship in the night
seeking the solace of the fog light
everlasting pain comes from bad decision
no future is in the past
I now know at last
should have listened...to precognition
