Poetry from the Heart 'Mary Liz' is what we called her
an angel here on earth
She raised me to know about love
to be good, true and honest
This hillbilly woman, uneducated but smart
- no prejudice or hatred in her heart
She gave me love and understanding
never asking for anything, undemanding
She was old-fashioned, followed the Bible - never sparing the rod
but wielding it with love
She taught me everything I knew about love
and to praise and love our God above
Gone these 40 years I still miss her
my life would have been poorer by far without her
My hero.....my 'Mary Liz'
