The Light Bulb ( i was challenged to write a poem about something random, here it is, i hope you like?)

Hanging from the ceiling,

And shining all so bright.

Or next to your pillows,

As a bedside light.

To get me all a glowing,

Just simply turn me on.

But when you goto sleep at night,

It's then i will be gone.

You'll find me out in Amsterdam,

And normally by a bed.

It's at night time ill be mostly lit,

In 50 shades of red.

I guess im out there everywhere,

Too many of me to handle,

But without me you'd be in the dark,

And have to use a candle.

I will say this,

it is in my humble opinion, that you poet did rise to the occasion! I make this point, so to add your motivation. I encourage and support you to continue. I do not want to tell you what to do. I am just expressing how your poem has affected me. Many poets forget that what they write is not only for themselves, that is part of the equation. None the less, it is their audience that brings out the capability, we give our best when know someone is watching. Readers are a compliment to the poet they complete the poem. Anyway, enough said it is always nice to read poetry from a poet that is in it for a good reason.

Peace

Hello there and many thanks for your kind words. I have been told i have somewhat of a hidden talent as i can put these short poems together in less than 20 mins. Ive been told i should get a job with Hallmark as i have done quite a few. But i wouldnt know where to start with card companies :) I really appreciate the time you have taken to reply & you have inspired me to keep on writing , thank you! Maybe i could try write one for you if you gave me a topic. Regards Derek
