You can gauge the amount of money two people earned

You can gauge the friends and family two people congregate 

You can gauge the behavior two people inevitably learned

But you cannot gauge how much two people inspire love

You cannot gauge the emotions two people share

You cannot gauge two peoples' mettle, when times are tough,

And you cannot gauge the welds that persevere two peoples' welfare
