Fear 7.23.09

Folder:
2009

The rain falls in miscellaneous
Not a worry, not an emotion, not a motive
Not a moment of question

I envy such confidence

Conviction; so rich and heavy it quenches the desert
and asserts my deepest fears

The fear of inadequacy, of not doing enough, of not having conviction
The fear is living scared.

Fear as insurmountable as the end of ends
When it truly exists as the ends of beginnings
The fear is not living anew.

Open to the opportunities of an oasis
but confined to one small room…alone…

Along for the ride with no one nearby
No one near to look out the window
No one to tell you where the shining stars or the silver lining exists
The fear is living alone.

The memory of the lost
Seeing what distance you’ve ventured
Promises kept, tears wept
An inherited existence born unfettered

Through the recollections we all endure
The fear is living enough.

One glance at the world
Hope is arduous, animosity copious
I don’t have the solutions for these mental pollutions, this mental smog
That corrodes the circuits within,
and destroys the cogs of our collectively ticking clock…
The fear is not living unified.
