Here I am again, engulfed in the shadows of my soul
My life shattered once more; the pain takes its toll
You said "forever" but now you're with someone new
Once the future was clear, now my vision's askewed
Somewhere in our time I must have greatly failed you
But then again, it seems I lie, I always knew
One day someone better would come and take you from my arms
You choose not to go at first, then I cause you more harm
I gazed into your eyes the first time we were alone
There was something different, foreign, unknown
Before I realized what it was, we had our first date
And now even the mere mention of my name makes you irate
The day has come, and now I must resume my solitude

I've told you I love you, that is straight from the heart
That feeling remains there even though we're apart
Erase me from your world, I guess that's how you deal
I hope that with time our wounds are allowed to heal
While the journey of life may bring us new joys and sorrows
