Dreamin' You're Home

Verse1
I had a dream last night
drempt that you were home
havin' good times

in the city
all night long
yeah L.A.'s kinda nice
but it's cool when you're home
just want you to know
that your Indy bros are missin' you

Verse2
Just when things get bad
you come on home
when they get better again
then you're back out on the road
but I know
you'll be back again
when you're down and out
when you need a friend
we'll be here 'til the end

Bridge
I see you standin' there
I hear you talkin' to me
is it really you
or is it just a dream

Chorus
I'm Dreamin' You're Home
where I wish you could be
yeah I'm Dreamin' You're Home
so you can see all the things
that have come to be
I'm Dreamin' You're Home
jammin' on the tunes with me
I'm Dreamin' You're Home
where the music sets you free

Verse3
We used to rock 'n' roll all night
the Ritz Music Hall
was outta sight
rockin' the music we all ove
jammin' it loud enough to shake
the Heaven above
givin' the women what they want
bein' cool
showin' them all the love

Repeat Bridge and Chorus

(solo)

Verse4
California's always cool
but ya gotta come home sometime
play Indy too
you may have left Indiana
but Indiana will never leave you

Repeat Bridge and Chorus

Author's Notes/Comments:

When I was a teenager. My Grandma told me she had a dream about her adopted son coming home. She dreampt that he showed up at Spring Mill State Park for our family reunion without telling anyone he was gonna be there. I thought it was so cool that I wrote a song about it and dedicated it to my brother from another mother. "Dreamin' Your Home" is written for you, Tommy Voiles, my brother.
