No Thanks
I ain't no bloody hero
Nor do I claim to be
But them that was and is
Was Soldiers just like me
There upon that dotted line
The proof that we was willing
Sold our lives for freedoms price
That day was but a shilling
We took orders as they came
And went where we were bid
Unpleasant task or easy job
Then that was what we did
Men went to war when called
And held the peace when not
Do whatever comes you way
That is the Soldiers lot
If we had wanted thanks
We'd have picked another job
But for us it was an honour
To serve within the Mob.
