Incompletely Captured

Blurs of brush and foliage fly by;

Passing shadows in the evening light;

The vistas surprise with beauty,

They're all never-before-seen paintings,

Of a traveling idiot-savant artist,

So serene, so wondrous, so vibrant with color,

It would all be perfect,

If only the grey clouds weren't creeping overhead,

They dampen the shimmer of otherwise picturesque waterfronts,

To a dreary depression,

Vacations happen all too fast,

I miss it already,

Brief glimpses of memories,

Fly by like the trees in my mind,

The train ride home was studded with nostagia,

But sadly, like my visit, all too short,

And incompletely captured
