My father's telescope

My father has kept his telescope in his room for a very, very long time. I still remember when some weekends he moved it to the terrace to move it around and watch more stars, throughout the years he keep doing this but with less frequency. Through my entire life that telescope has been there, even since my parents wedding, because my grandfather, his father gave him as a present when he was 25, he says. He has 4 telescopes because of the new technology but the main one, the first one, the original and where all this started, his dream to know what is out there, has a lot of history, so for me its the best one. It is obvious that my father uses the new ones but he do prefer the old one, he says it is the symbol of his room because he always has had one at least there. My father was born in Mexico city, so his friends live there, once a year he goes to the annual meeting of astronomers organized by and at U.N.A.M which has the best telescope in Mexico. It is very special for me the feeling that my father loves this, something that he has loved since he was young and he still has that special feeling about this, sometimes I go to the terrace with him to watch the starts with him, it is very nice to see at the moon’s craters. Someday I wish, I will give him a telescope as a present, a very good one so he can look farther than he have always could, and look all the amazing and big things that are out there in the galaxy. Sometimes he gathers with people, here in Monterrey, in a roof so all of them bring their telescope, each of one look at a different direction and when they find something special or different they tell everyone to come and see it, it is very special how that special smile he does while using his telescope, is hardly seemed in every other thing he does, he does not like nothing as much as he do watching the stars with his telescope. He has told me that when he dies, he would like that I keep this tradition with my sons, so this is passed through many generations, and I am pleased to say to him that I will do it.
