Since I was a child I remember my father always asking my mom’s permission for getting a motorcycle, but the answer was always no because she was to afraid, so he got a bicycle instead, and every sunday he would take out his bicycle and go ride it for hours and while it lasted he loved it but it was not enough so one day he decided to ask for the last time and my mother finally said yes, my father had a blast. When the motorcycle arrived we were all in awe, that same day my father started practicing, he practiced and practiced for months until he could finally get on the road, and he fell in love with the feeling. He now travels every summer to different parts of the United States, his goal is see every state until he gets to reach Alaska but for now he will settle with Nebraska. The motorcycle was the beginning of his obsession, he began bringing different things from different trips like plaques, plates, furniture, bar supplies, kitchen supplies, lights, etc, and he is filling our house slowly but intensely, even his wardrobe is full of motorcycle related shirts, boots, hats and jeans, strangely my mother does not mind it, she now even goes to small trips with my father in Mexico, and sometimes she even drives and she loves it, even dresses for the occasion, no one would have imagine that happening not even her. My father has been trying for years to get all the family into it and he has finally done it, everyone loves it except for me, I have never tried it and I never will because it is not my thing, this always saddens my dad, but I prefer to see his motorcycle just as his thing as his passion and obsession and not related to anyone else not even me, I will always remember the fun my dad has with all his friends while he is riding a motorcycle and how he is stress free while he is on the road, and also all of the stories he tells me of his journeys across the the United States or Mexico and which stops were his favorites and what interesting things he does on the journey. Everytime I see a motorcycle I am reminded of my father and how persistent he was until he accomplished one of his many goals, I will always love this about my father and it will be with me forever.
