Monday, the day almost everybody hates. We can all relate it with first day at job, at school, day of homework’s delivering, and of course getting up early; except for one person, one of the happiest men alive I’ve ever known, my grandpa. He wakes up every day of the week (that includes Monday) at 5:00 am, with a big smile that comes from ear to ear, like if someone was pulling his cheeks so that the smile could be that long and that big, with eyes wide open like if he had slept for a week, with the amount of energy that almost causes jealousy and of course his whistle. My grandpa´s whistle is not the ordinary, daily or normal kind of whistle. He puts a melody on it that can change your humor the moment you start to hear it. His whistle has quite a calm and soft sound that if you listen close, you can notice that its rhythm changes according to the sound of birds (that happen to be a lot outside his house), but also you can identify some popular songs (from his good old days of course). You can hear when my grandpa is getting close to you or getting far just with the sound of his whistle. He whistles a lot of times on a day, just as if he was breathing. At breakfast time when you enter to grandma´s kitchen you can see her making different kinds of delicious dishes, of course all for my grandfather and while she makes them you can see her dancing along with the melody of the whistle, with a big smile from ear to ear too. If someday you are feeling sad you can enter to that kitchen and feel the love all around, only by listening to grandpa’s whistle and watching grandma’s dancing, the sound of the whistle can just make you forget about the problems and believe that they will be over soon. Grandpa’s whistle also makes a great environment at that house, because even if you are at the tv. room and he is in the back yard you will not feel alone, not until night comes, and the moon starts to shine. My grandpa goes to sleep around 8:00 pm, and it’s when the melody of the good old man ends. But even if its late at night you know that on the next day he will wake up bringing happiness with his whistle to all the family members.
