The shadows of darkness fade in the pale moonlight
giving light upon the sleepy little town below
a crisp breeze in the night air sends a shiver down to my toes
clouds gathering up on the rabbit ears gives thoughts about
this years first snow
the moonlight reflects off the big muddy looking like a silver snake
twisting an turning till it disappears into the darker shadows of the gore
sitting here high above the town blowing smoke rings watching till they
fade to nothing in the thin mountain air
I often come here to nothing more than clear my head but tonight
it's different
tonight I'm here searching my soul for the courage and the words
to tell her how I really feel.
night after night she's had the leading role in my dreams .
I need to tell her she's more to me than just best friends
just the thought of mentioning it to her makes my hands shake
like aspen leaves in the wind
my mind races with many thoughts trying to predict how she will take
the words I've been practicing in front of the sage brush an my reflection
in the window of my old truck
It shouldn't be so damn hard to say ..........
your in love
D. Donner .
It shouldn't be so hard to say.
I have a suggestion for you.
Just write her a love poem.
She will love it.
I have enjoyed reading your
poems this morning. You are a very
talented writer. You use metaphors
very nicely. You really don't need to practice,
everything will turn out fine for you. Why am
I reading your poetry at 3:00 am in the morning?
