She was standing there in the rain
looking like some long lost angel
it seemed so innocent at the start
I opened the door an beckoned her in

Did you ever love somebody an not know the reason why
you just do cause love is blind?
We went for a walk on a winter's day
all the leaves were brown, and the sky was gray
looking into her eyes was intoxicating making it seem
like a sunny day
I gave my heart away that day
the simple touch of her hand an that first stolen kiss
I never felt so alive an thought it could never end

The future's uncertain and the end is always near
It was a brief interlude to the troubles that abound
one moment everything was fine , not a care in the world
we had dreams an we had plans
but then ................?

Once in a lifetime you'll feel there's a reason to believe
In a love that's meant to be
that someone was heaven sent just for you
then the realities of the world come crashing down
crushing your dreams in the rubble

I've been lost in a sea of confusion everyday sense
the devastating day my world imploded
asking myself each an every night the questions
that have no answers
I search through this empty darkness
trying to picture her face in the morning light
what happened to a love that lasts forever
or is that just someone else's fantasy

It feels like I've fallen from grace
banished to the badlands where relationships
never last an the truth is never told
the today's are the same as the yesterdays
an I've no hope for the tomorrows

I lay awake at night with a faded picture of her in my mind
an feelings that just wont die
