"Love is our true destiny. We do not find the meaning of life by ourselves alone.
We find it with another."
~ Thomas Merton ~
The thing is .........
in the various stages of my life I've found most relationships end because
we don't realize what we had till it's to damned late to fix anything .
some relationships end in one big explosion ....
the majority though die a slow death like a cancer .
It's not the big things that take love down .
It's the thousand little thing's that build up till the house of cards can no longer bare the weight .
the first time you leave the house without a kiss or a I love you ?
such a simple little thing
but that's the first hit with the hammer upon the foundation .....
the first sip of poison in the fairytale .
yeah you remember that fairytale
beginning where you felt like you just saved the damsel from the dragon
or your knight in shining armor just arrived
Cinderella and Snow White stories are just that ......
stories
stories of living happily ever after in a state of bliss
has killed more relationships than the plague killed people
love Is a Fickle Bitch !
it requires both parties to work at making it work.
just as soon as one or the other starts taking things for granted
things will slowly start heading south
and gain speed each time someone's feelings get hurt .
love alone will get you through anything ......
Now there's the Ultimate Fairytale of all Fairy Tales !
relationships should be about selflessness, making each other happy, being best friends, partners, lovers, helpers.
in this world today
"it''s all about me"
but it's so terribly wrong
to be alone is one thing
to be lonely is quite a different thing
I remember something in the bible saying
God made woman for man because He said it wasn't good for man to be alone.......
I've spent the last few years feeling nothing more than loneliness
even in a crowd
I could blame it on a lot of things
being hardheaded would be one
being alone in a lonely world you find that we need someone to share those rare times when the world catches you by surprise
yet we push each other away and end up cold and alone
I've laugh and I cry
I lose and I win
blessed yet I sin
I've lived chaos and order
have my pride
and my shame
but when alone in the silence of the night
it don't mean a damn thing

It's Like
Owning a house, if you ignore the roof tiles, you will hate rainy days. Care and time has to be invested in all things with moveable parts. The heart most of all. Liked the length of this one. ~A~
