When I looked into her eyes I saw an angel and to my surprise…
She told me a story about her life. About how she was sick and had no choice. I could not believe how someone so young could be so brave. She would smile at me with her crooked little teeth; She would laugh with all she had left, oh and she would love more than you and I. I could tell by the look in her eyes that she would be an angel soon… Its hard to believe that she is so young, yet so old. She is so little, yet so big. For every breath she took was harder. For every tear she wept was deeper. For every hand she held was tighter. That’s when I knew that she would be an angel soon… I am amazed how brave she is even though she is so scared. She is so funny, so talented and so smart; yet she is not even given the chance to start. Just as I was about to leave I heard this little voice ask her mom for one last request. She said “would you sing me a song about how it is going to be when I become an angel?” Her mom just stopped and looked into those beautiful brown eyes and sang; “ When you become an angel and get you set of wings you will be able to do anything. Its gonna be like floating in the sky. Its where you will ride your first bike, oh and when you get there your daddy’s gonna hold you tight and ask you to dance. Oh baby girl your just going to live.” And then she cried “momma I don’t wanna die, but I feel better knowing I will be okay.” I broke down to those innocent words, and that was the first time I saw an angel come alive! She was the most beautiful angel, she had the brightest and the prettiest set of wings. An angel I saw come alive in those little brown eyes…
