I placed my heart
In a box upon a shelf
Do with it what you please
I no longer can use it myself
It's now tarnished and black
And has been super glued back together
Although not so long ago was brand new
It has been crushed since you promised me forever
It has been cold and lifeless for awhile
But I told you from the start
That I’d love you forever and always
I promised you my heart
If it’s not too much to ask
To relieve me of this pain
Take the heart I promised you
So I never have to feel this way again
