  Set too high

Humanic kind

  Never satisfies



Friends forever

  Ended just last year

Failing to recognize

  That I'm even here

Cry out your name

  You're not so near

Your only warmth

  Comes from the tear



My expectations

  Are set too high

For it is not you

  Who can satisfy



Year after year

  That one day comes

Each time abandoned

  Heart in the slums

No birthday cheer

  No whispered hums

Year after year

  Heart only numbs



Forever comes hurt

Forever comes pain

With human kind

You have not to gain



The perfect boyfriend

  Love without end

Except when it's you

  He must defend

A back does turn

And an ear does close

No helping hand to lend



These expectations

  Set so high

How could they ever

  Satisfy?



A group left alone

  To hurt themselves

Watching in sorrow

  These miniature hells
