Back Home
The trees outside are screaming
They want to hear your voice
But in my head I’m thinking
That you left us all by choice
The house inside is weeping
It misses your laughter
But in my head I’m keeping
That you’ll come back maybe after
The household hearts are beeping
They miss you oh so sweetly
But soon they will be leaping
Because you’ll come home quickly
The letters sure are seeping
The owners miss their friend
But soon the hands are sleeping
Because your time away will end
The Plane
The plane seats they were leaning
They like your comfort there
You give them so much meaning
You strip their hearts so bare
The pilot’s mind was weaning
Away from the work done
So he didn’t see the screening
He was having too much fun
The wings started their cleaning
All through the nighttime air
The clouds were intervening
And that began the scare
The vessel was careening
Into the ocean breeze
The passengers were screaming
The sea began their freeze
Somewhere Else
The TV was hardly telling
About a fate so rare
The people home were yelling
Because they are in despair
The souls are deeply crying
They miss the family
People outside were dying
Outside the family tree
The coffins they were squalling
They hated being used
Because that meant the calling
Of family abused
The day is finally ending
When family life is gone
No bother comprehending
Another’s life til dawn
