I died briefly,
I died and waited for you.
There was nothing.
I searched the tunnel
stumbled towards the light,
the way littered with souls,
wavering through purgatory
Fading voices and vanishing images,
life turning to afterlife
returning to dust
and in the distance
I saw nothing.
I waited for angels
I looked for you.
I sought you out
The pearly gates rusted and locked.
Is this heaven?
I died briefly then revived.
I died and waited;
God, where were you?
