Prayer
They say a prayer will protect you,
But a prayer can say goodbye too.
Trust me I know.
I've seen people lowered six feet below.
You say a prayer in hopes of a good life,
But sometimes it brings only strife.
So you stop praying,
but all you are doing is hoping.
Hoping that your trials will end.
Maybe God will get the message you send.
The message of "Please stop the pain."
but then it smacks you in the face like cold rain.
He's testing you to see if you hesitate.
For God knows if your prayer is a second late.
So you keep on praying.
"I get what you're doing." You raise your eyes up and keep saying.
You hold your head down and get on your knees,
you say, "God give me a good life please."
