..you can't take it away...take it away...

You can take my keys, take my car
But it won't get you very far

You can take my trophies
Right off the shelf
You can take my time
And kill it somewhere else

You can take my heart
Break it in two
Take everything of monetary value
When we're through

You can take name
My identity
Take everything away
That makes me “me”

You can trade in my dreams
For a better exhange
You can take my money
And keep the change

You can take my sanity
Capture my soul
But you'll never truly have control

You can take these clothes
Right off my back
But i'm still gonna walk
Right on track

You can take my safety
Launch a surprise attack
I wouldnt even bother
To fight back

You can take my future
and ruin it today
You can take the skies
And turn them into shades of gray

You can take my dreams
and watch them decay
Take this predator
And turn him into prey

You think you can take it all
But you'll eventually fail
Because my self respect
Will never be for sale

And all of these possessions
I'll give you with a stride
Because you can never take my dignity
No matter how hard you tried
And all of these belongings
I will gladly toss to the side
Because only one thing matters to me
I'm forever keeping my pride
