Incandescent Lamps and Concentration Camps

Folder:
A Scar is Born

Delete and repeat

To the point where the whole world population becomes obsolete

The street lamps burn out bright on the vacant street

Only to re-light in lust when we once again meet

The stars shine so brilliantly tonight

Two young, lost lovers forever disappear into the vivid moonlight

Another poem I'm writing to show you that I'm not alright

All of our memories you selfishly erase while I cry myself to sleep at night

Send and descend

To the point where our own disposable lives come to a tragic end

Symbolic messages that our immature minds can never comprehend

Only to decipher the mechanized meaning once our fragile hearts begin to mend

The traffic lights spontaneously combust so peacefully today

Since your departure, I've been so lonely without you and my world has turned black and gray

I'm publishing an autobiography to tell the world that I'm not okay

I'm suffocated by the failed past while you look toward a brighter future day

Spill and refill

To the point where each other we begin to viscously kill

The cries of love and loss are often heard atop the pinnacle of that illustrious hill

Only to transform to tears of tragedy once we open wide and swallow the bitter metal pill

Our dreams incinerate so beautifully at this time

Turning into nightmares with a prognosis of you never again being mine

I'm bleeding on a white canvas to paint the poisonous picture of me crossing the enemy’s line

I pray in the corner for a miracle while you blindly swing back and forth on your unstable vine

Break and remake

To the point where our own fate and future is foolishly at stake

As powerful as a tyrant and as venomous as a rattlesnake

Only to convert to an angel when we realize that every choice we make is an immense mistake

The planets align so perfectly on this night

Two old, frightened souls forever vanish into the achromatic sunlight

Another prayer I'm sending your way to make you witness this suicidal sight

You live on for another day like an incandescent lamp while I give up the ghost in my concentration camp tonight
