I live my life behind barriers
Afraid of catching Covid-19.
I'm so scared and isolated
Alone with no vitality.
Everybody's talking to computers,
Communicating via video screen.
So deliberately detached
From what used to be reality.
I don't know where
They don't know when
I haven't a clue who,
I don't know how
They don't know why
I don't know what to do.
What'll I do?
I still need the human touch.
Because I need protection
I cover my face with a mask.
I know I need affection,
So I hold my breath and gasp.
Right now outside these prison cells
All interpersonal interactions might be
Akin to homicide so my kiss and tell
I must not take so very lightly.
We don't know where
They don't know when
We haven't a clue who
We don't know how
They don't know why
We don't know what to do
What'll we do?
We all need the human touch.
